Welcome to this project we completed in 2020 at St Edmund’s School in Hindhead.
This involves a large scale cut and fill of a natural valley to create a new natural sports pitch.
First we installed new culvert pipes to take surface water from the rest of the site and channel underneath the pitch.
Then we scraped off and stockpiled any topsoil and excavated over 3 metres of soil depth at the higher end of the valley - getting right down to sandy, rocky soil. All the spoil was pushed to the lower area consolidating with the bulldozer as we went.
This was followed by hundreds of tons of soil being imported to create a growing medium for the new sports turf and drainage was installed…
Then, in a very satisfying section of the timelapse we laid the new sports turf!
Hope you enjoy!
